Privacy Policy

Household OS ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by As You Need LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard personal data through Household OS applications and websites. Official product aliases are householdproductivity.com, glittermeinpink.com, and asyouneedllc.com (operator / legal alias). This policy is designed to meet obligations under the GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable U.S. state privacy laws.

2.1 Information you provide directly

• Name, email address, hashed password, and household role
• Household profile details you enter while setting up or managing a household
• Phone number, if you opt in to SMS notifications
• Expo push device tokens, used only for daily digests and operational alerts you request

2.2 Information generated by use of the service

We collect usage and technical data needed to operate, secure, and debug Household OS (for example request logs, device type, and feature usage). Cookies and session storage are isolated per official domain alias. Sessions do not leak across glittermeinpink.com and householdproductivity.com.

2.3 Information from third parties you connect

• Plaid. When you complete Plaid Link, we may receive balances, transactions, liabilities, and ACH account details needed to power household finance features you request.
• Inbound Email Task Parsing (Resend). Email sent to your private intake address at @inbound.householdproductivity.com is parsed into staging cards in the Task Review Queue. Message bodies are not used for model training and are not retained long-term.
• MCP AI assistant integrations. If you explicitly connect an assistant (for example Claude) via OAuth, that assistant may receive schedule, task, and spending summaries according to the toggles you set under Settings → AI Permissions.

We use personal data solely to operate Household OS — to deliver household productivity tools, coordinate calendars and tasks, process requested notifications, and keep accounts secure. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Role privacy. Items, habits, and transactions marked is_shared = false stay private to the creating adult or roommate. Those records remain hidden even from Household CEOs.

Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on these legal bases:

• Article 6(1)(b) — processing necessary to perform our contract with you (operating Household OS, including features you enable).
• Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interests in securing the service, preventing abuse, and improving reliability, balanced against your rights.
• Article 6(1)(a) — consent, where you opt in to optional features such as SMS, Expo push notifications, Plaid Link, inbound email parsing, or an MCP assistant connection.

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with processors who help us operate Household OS: Supabase (application database and auth), Plaid (financial connections you authorize), Resend (transactional and inbound email), and Expo (push delivery). These processors may handle data only to provide their service to us, under contract.

Financial connections are provided by Plaid. Before Plaid Link opens, we present a connection notice and ask you to confirm that you agree to this Privacy Policy and Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.

Plaid access tokens are stored server-side, encrypted at rest, associated with the user who linked the account, and are never exposed to other household members through the client API. We use Plaid-derived data only to provide household finance features you request. We do not sell Plaid consumer data.

You may disconnect a linked institution at any time from Finance → Ledger. Disconnecting calls Plaid /item/remove and purges Plaid-derived records we store for that Item.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

SMS is sent only after explicit opt-in. We NEVER share mobile information or SMS consent with third parties for marketing. If you opt in, your phone number is used strictly to deliver requested account notifications, daily schedule digests, and operational follow-ups. Reply STOP to cancel and HELP for assistance, or update messaging preferences in your account settings.

You may request access to, correction of, portability of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@asyouneedllc.com. California residents submitting a CCPA/CPRA request should use the subject line "CCPA/CPRA California request".

We retain personal data as follows:

• Account and household data while your account remains open
• Plaid-derived records and inbound email-task artifacts are purged when you disconnect the integration or delete your account
• Support correspondence for 3 years
• Operational logs for 12 months

We protect data in transit with TLS 1.2 or higher. Password hashes and Plaid tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Access inside Household OS is limited by role-based access control (RBAC). If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will provide notice within 72 hours where required by applicable law.

Household OS is not directed to children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Teen and Child profiles are created and managed by an adult in the household (COPPA). To request deletion of a youth profile or associated data, email support@asyouneedllc.com.

Household OS is operated in the United States. When we transfer personal data from the EEA or United Kingdom, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (IDTA), as applicable.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will email the address on your account at least 14 days before the change takes effect and update the Effective Date at the top of this page.
